Review: Ronan Keating at the Liverpool Empire

When Ronan Keating appeared on stage at the Liverpool Empire, the sell-out crowd went wild.

Review: Ronan Keating, Usher Hall

THERE’S a tinge of pathos to Ronan Keating’s new tour. Among the schmaltzy slow ballads and the sunshine-fuelled pop tunes that have marked his career, are a selection of songs for the people he’s lost.

Ronan enjoying the UK

Ronan played the first of his UK tour dates last night in Glasgow, he said:

Amazing opening night. The audience was incredible. I was quite nervous going out on stage as it was the first time without the lads in a long time in the UK, but the crowds helped me through it. Really looking forward to the rest of the tour.

Ronan heads for Glasgow

Ronan will be in Glasgow’s Clyde Auditorium tonight for the first date of his UK tour.

He will be joined by special guest multi award-winning South African singer-songwriter and guitarist Arno Carstens.

Arno says:

I couldn’t pass up the chance to perform on tour with Ronan. He is such a fantastic performer and his fans are amongst the best in the world. To tour around the country with him will be another great experience. To get the opportunity to play some prestigious venues like the Royal Albert Hall is obviously mind-blowing!

During his career as the lead singer of South Africa’s favourite rock band The Springbok Nude Girls, and subsequently as a solo artist, Arno has released 7 studio albums, had 18 top ten singles. He has won 5 South African Music Awards and shared the stage with legends of the music world.

Ronan will head up to Glasgow after his appearance this morning with boyzone on GMTV, where they will perform the new single “Gave It All Away” for the first time.

Ballygowan water helps raise funds

Ireland’s top bottled water label, Ballygowan, is starting a nine month fundraising drive for the Marie Keating breast cancer charity. During this time, pink Ballygowan bottles in aid of the charity will be sold alongside the established blue (still) and green (sparkling) bottles, wherever Ballygowan is sold.

The target is to raise €250,000 for the charity between now and October, and the possibility of keeping the pink bottles as a permanent option is under consideration.

Ronan, who established the charity after his mother’s death from breast cancer, is supporting the drive, and several other Irish celebrities have signed up for future promotions.
