Commitment to end hunger

World leaders convened at FAO Headquarters for the World Summit on Food Security yesterday unanimously adopted a declaration pledging renewed commitment to eradicate hunger from the face of the earth sustainably and at the earliest date.

Countries also agreed to work to reverse the decline in domestic and international funding for agriculture and promote new investment in the sector, to improve governance of global food issues in partnership with relevant stakeholders from the public and private sector, and to proactively face the challenges of climate change to food security.

Our very own Ronan is a UN Goodwill Ambassador and believes strongly in supporting this type of initiative. It would be interesting to hear your views on this.

One Response to “Commitment to end hunger”

  • I’m with Ronan on this one.

I’m a guide leader and girlguiding uk are very heavily involved with the UN and it’s programme and I think it’s fantasic that people of all ages are able to get involved.

Hats off to Ro for being involved, a lot of celebs these days can’t be bothered with charity work.

But then that’s why we love the Boyz so much, they are all so down to earth and caring.
    xx
